Romana Boland Londi is an Italian and Irish painter based in London.
Her practice deals with many strains of thought and materiality, life and non life, synchronicity and dislocation, the dichotomy of nature and culture. Since 2014 Londi developed a unique light-sensitive paint medium, which allows her works to mime and react to their immediate surrounding through a chameleonic shift in color and a deliberate choreography of shadows. Vulnerable to their geographical location, season, and time of day, the paintings become sentient beings rather than representational objects.
Selected Exhibitions include 'Romana Londi: From Hand to Mouth' at Kenny Schachter/ROVE; 'Quarter III', a group show following from a residency at Hooper Projects, LA; ‘The Limits of Law’, STATE ART, Freies Museum, Berlin.
